We writers can’t write by word alone. Every writer has their go-to snacks to get them through the writing day. Writing snacks have to serve multiple functions and meet several criteria. They must be:
- relatively clean (aka no crumbs in the keyboard)
- easy (aka less time away from the keyboard)
- healthy (aka to offset sitting hunched over the keyboard all day)
Being vegan means snacks have an extra criteria: no meat or dairy. With all the great new vegan products available on the market right now it’s an amazing time to be vegan. Non-dairy substitutions are readily available and super-yummy. Here are some brands to try if you’re looking for vegan treats:
- Califia Farms (almond milk latte, espresso, and mocha drinks)
- Daiya (cheese shreds, slices, and wedges)
- Earth Balance (vegan butter, popcorn, cheese crackers)
- Tofutti (cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese)
I’ve come up with a list of 11 vegan snacks to stock my writerly pantry.
