When I posted about Robert Frost’s birthday a few weeks back, I threatened to share an old poem of mine here on the blog. Well, some of you seemed interested—you might live to regret that—so here goes…
A silver lining on the clouds of night
Radiated forth by the moon so bright
As I walk alone under the light
My image of love lingers in sight
For never has passion felt so right
Than when love is given without a fight
So the heart and soul soar to the height
Of the silver lining on the clouds of night.
Dated August 2, 1996. Keep in mind I wrote this in college (when I was starstruck by a gorgeous actor performing at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival). I won’t dare ask for your thoughts, but feel free to share poems of your own in comments.
