As I’m starting to work on Secret Project RH this morning, I’m debating whether or not to start with a prologue. And, if I use a prologue, whether it should be a snippet that happened before the story began (i.e. a taste of backstory that sets up the book) or something that happens later in the story (i.e. a teaser of exciting action to come).

Personally, as a reader, I love prologues. But the internet would lead me to believe that I’m in the minority. So my poll has two questions.

  1. Prologue, yay or nay?
  2. If yay, then would you rather read a prologue about something that has already happened or something that will happen?

Thanks for the feedback!
